Approve public fields
Choose exactly which imported information visitors may see.
Three separate decisions
A saved-layout display requires all three:
- The relevant fields are approved under Public fields.
- Public displays are enabled for the selected event.
- The selected Layout Studio design is published.
A draft layout does not change your website. Approving a field does not automatically add it to every existing layout.
Approve only intended content
Select the event and record type in Public fields. Review each field's meaning and values, approve the fields intended for visitors, and save. Enable event public displays when ready.
Names, biographies, contact information, custom fields and internal notes may have different publication requirements. Importing them is not consent to publish them.
Filtering, sorting and calendar generation can disclose information too. Their required fields must also be approved.
Check as a visitor
Publish a test layout and open the page while logged out. Confirm that it shows the intended event and fields. Administrator previews are not a replacement for this check.
Revoking a required field can make an existing display unavailable until its configuration is updated. Turning event publishing off suppresses fresh MetaSprout public output. Check the cache behavior after either change.
Understand the boundary
These controls protect MetaSprout's public displays. Other plugins or custom code that read raw WordPress metadata need their own access controls.
