Place a layout on a WordPress page

Publish a saved layout using its generated shortcode or native block.

MetaSprout beta2 min read

Publish the design first

Confirm the correct event is selected, its required fields are approved, event public displays are enabled, and the layout is published. A draft can be edited without being available to visitors.

Use the generated shortcode

Open Place on a page in Layout Studio and copy the generated shortcode. Add a WordPress Shortcode block to your page, paste it, and save the page.

Example
[metasprout_layout connection="1" id="YOUR_LAYOUT_ID"]

This is an example only. Replace the connection and layout ID with the values copied from your installation. A layout ID identifies a saved design; it is not a presentation or presenter ID.

Use the native block

Alternatively, insert MetaSprout Saved Layout in the WordPress editor. Choose the event and published layout, then save and check the page. The native block and saved-layout shortcode use the same public design.

Make separate placements

Create separate layouts for your agenda and presenter directory. Both use metasprout_layout, with their own saved layout IDs. Different years can use different event connections and layouts on separate pages.

There is no automatic active-event fallback and no dedicated event-archive shortcode in beta. Keep explicit event connections so a new year does not unexpectedly replace a past program.

Verify the public page

Open it logged out. Check fields, links, popups, filters and pagination. If it is blank, see Troubleshooting. If it shows an older design, see Cache clearing.
