Add filters, sorting and day groups
Help visitors find presentations and understand the program day by day.
Choose search and filters
In the layout's search and organization settings, enable the controls visitors need. You can configure up to four facet fields, rather than relying on one filter. Use approved fields with meaningful values, such as room or track.
Give controls clear visitor-facing labels. Renaming “Presentation Time Start” to a friendlier label changes its caption; it does not turn a filter into a sort control.
Choose automatic updates when changing an option should immediately update results. Keep button-based submission when visitors should choose several options before applying them.
Add visitor sorting
Configure the actual sort control for supported options such as title or start time. Test the options with approved event data. Time sorting needs the appropriate selected/approved time data; a label alone does not configure it.
Group presentations by day
Choose the date field for day grouping. Style the day bars' colors, spacing and date appearance. Enable collapsible groups if visitors should be able to close days, and choose whether groups start open or closed.
Pagination can split a day across pages. Choose a page size appropriate to the program; do not promise that a day bar always contains every presentation for that day on one page.
Style the surrounding controls
Filters can be arranged in a row, stacked or in a sidebar. Customize spacing, colors and button appearance. Button width/alignment is distinct from the alignment of text inside the button.
Choose where the result summary appears, or hide it, and adjust its typography. Pagination can show previous/next buttons, numbers, or both. The active page number has separate styling controls.
Test combinations
Use the interactive Layout Studio preview with approved event data. Try more than one filter, a sort option, pagination and a search with no matches. Then repeat the important combinations on the actual page.
