Connect Cadmium Education Harvester
Add an event connection with its event identifier, feed identifier, and separately purchased Cadmium Education Harvester key. Prepare a preview, confirm the source, and review the changes before applying them.
Approve and design
Select and transform supported source fields, then approve the fields intended for visitors. Design your cards, directory and popups in Layout Studio, enable public displays, and publish the design.
Place and schedule
Copy the generated saved-layout shortcode or use the native WordPress block. After checking the public page, choose an import schedule and verify that the host’s cron runner completes background jobs.

Every event, one install
Keep each year or program in its own event connection. Place its published layout on a WordPress page and link past programs from a normal archive page. Archiving a connection stops imports while retaining its records; public visibility remains under your control.
Fields land where you expect them
Choose supported source fields and map them to plugin-managed custom fields or taxonomies. Mappings belong to each event; protected source identifiers cannot be remapped.
Clean data on the way in
Remove unwanted HTML, trim whitespace, replace known text and format dates before applying an import. Preview rules against representative values before saving changes to your event data.

Use Layout Studio to choose fields, colors, typography, filters and day groups. Place the published design with its generated shortcode or native block, then check it in your theme on desktop and mobile.

Do I need a Cadmium Education Harvester API key?
Yes. Purchase an event-specific Cadmium Education Harvester API key separately from Cadmium; MetaSprout does not include or resell it. This beta currently supports Cadmium Education Harvester. Imports are read-only against Cadmium, and failed imports retain the last committed local data. Expo support is planned for a future release.
How often does it sync?
New connections start with manual imports. After reviewing your first import, choose an interval from every 15 minutes, or daily/weekly timing. Prepare preview, Import now and WP-CLI tools are available. Reliable unattended imports require a working cron runner.
Will it match my theme?
Layout Studio provides colors, typography, spacing and responsive controls for your cards, filters and popups. Publish a design and check it within your WordPress theme. A child-theme template-override system is not part of this beta.
Does it need any other plugins?
No additional WordPress plugin is required: no ACF and no page builder. Use the native saved-layout block or place the generated shortcode in a Shortcode block. Imports need access to Cadmium, and licensing uses SureCart.
Can I map custom fields?
Supported source fields, including supported custom fields, can be mapped to plugin-managed metadata or taxonomies. Mappings and transformations are per event. Protected source identifiers cannot be remapped or transformed.
What happens if Cadmium Education Harvester is unreachable?
The public page uses stored WordPress data, so a failed import preserves the last committed program. Check the saved error in import history, resolve its cause, and use Retry run or prepare a new preview. Background recovery does not guarantee that every feed error will resolve automatically.
